Private Equity Firm Thoma Bravo is taking over data integration provider Talend for USD 2.4 billion, the companies announced on March 10, 2021. Talend, whose shares were ready for public sale in 2016, said that the deal will help the company acquire long-term growth. It will also provide the required funds and resources to implement the market strategy.
Thoma Bravo is a famous name in the world of technology. The company has acquired a list of technology brands, including Flexera, Riverbed, Blue Coat, Qlik, and Barracuda Networks. Thoma Bravo has developed a list of security brands by acquiring Veracode, ConnectWise, Sophos, Imperva, and automotive software firm Autodata.

Terms of the buyout
Talend shareholders will receive USD 66 per share in cash. The total amount equals to 29% premium over Talend stock price on March 9. Talend also led a 30 days go-shop period that will expire on April 10.

The company sells software that helps other companies access and collect data from disparate sources, including sensors, social media streams, and other business software. Talend competes with various other companies in the data integration space, including IBM, Oracle, and Informatica.
As per last month’s report, the company reported Q4 revenue and profit that exceeded analysts’ expectations. Good sales numbers are also a forecast for the current quarter.
